Nurturing Lives: A Digital Revolution in Maternal and Infant Health

The central idea of our story, “Nurturing Lives: A Digital Revolution in Maternal and Infant Health,” revolves around the Technology Pregnancy Monitoring System in Kisumu County.

Faced with alarming infant and under-five mortality rates, the county responded with a groundbreaking solution. This system leverages technology to empower Community Health Volunteers (CHVs) who, armed with pregnancy tablets, connect seamlessly with expectant mothers and the central health system.

Our narrative explores how this initiative, driven by county health officials and technical experts, has become a beacon of hope, significantly reducing mortality rates.

Through the voices of CHVs and expectant mothers, we highlight the intimate, human side of this digital revolution, emphasizing its capacity to build trust, provide support, and ultimately redefine maternal and infant healthcare in Kisumu County.

Despite its successes, we acknowledge the limitations, painting a comprehensive picture of a transformative solution that goes beyond statistics, nurturing lives and fostering positive change in the community.
