AU Panel and Mediator Gnassingbé push for dialogue to advance peace
The African Union Mediator and the Panel of Facilitators have emphasized the importance of fostering dialogue and cooperation among the conflicting parties in the continent.
The Panel which consists of the former Presidents Uhuru Kenyatta (Kenya), Olusegun Obasanjo (Nigeria), Mokgweetsi Masisi (Botswana), Catherine Samba-Panza (Central African Republic), and Sahle-Work Zewde (Ethiopia) held a high-level meeting on Saturday with the African Union Mediator Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé in Lome, Togo.
The Panel which convened under the auspices of the AU, aimed to advance ongoing diplomatic and peacebuilding efforts on the continent welcomed recent commitments to a peaceful resolution.
They reaffirmed their collective dedication to achieving lasting stability in the Democratic Republic of Congo and the broader region.
According to a statement, the Panel also expressed deep appreciation to Gnassingbé for his leadership and unwavering commitment to advancing peace in Africa.
