Former CS Yatani, Marsabit governor arrested over graft claims

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has arrested former Treasury Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yatani and Marsabit Governor Ali Mohammud Mohammed over alleged embezzlement of Ksh 8.2 billion from the public coffers in Marsabit County.
Yatani, who previously served as Governor for Marsabit County is currently at the Integrity Centre.
The sleuths Wednesday morning simultaneously raised both Yatani’s and Ali’s residences and offices in Nairobi and Marsabit counties.
Marsabit Governor Ali who is in custody will be escorted to EACC regional offices in Isiolo County.
The former CS was accompanied to the EACC headquarters by former Defence Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa, Siaya Governor James Orengo, and Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo among other leaders.
