Nine arrested over insecurity in Bondo

Nine people suspected of inciting insecurity incidents targeting bodaboda riders in Bondo and Rarieda sub-counties were arrested.
The nine suspects were apprehended in Pith-Dero village, Kagwa sub location, west Uyoma, after member of the public mounted an operation led by Amoyo market center chairman and area Bodaboda chairperson.
According to Siaya county police Commandant Cleti Kimaiyo the nine male suspects aged between 17 and 21 years were initially taken to Amoyo patrol base with assorted items which include Kenya Police service regalia with scripted force numbers, National Youth Service smoke jackets, Kenya Police service Angola shirt, three pangas, a bunch of keys and bhang wrapped in polythene bag.
The suspects were transferred to Bondo police station for processing as police begin investigations into the incident.
