6 years later: Court to deliver verdict in Ksh588M Waititu graft case
The Nairobi Anti-Corruption Court is set to deliver a judgment this morning in a Ksh588 million graft case involving former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu.
Other individuals implicated in the case include his wife, Susan Wangari Ndungu; Luka Mwangi Wahinya, the former transport manager; as well as Charles Chege Mbuthia, Beth Wangeci Mburu, Testimony Enterprises Limited, Saika Two Estate Developers Limited, and Bienvenue Delta Hotel.
They were charged with irregular awarding of road tenders in Kiambu County in February 2018.
Additionally, they face separate charges of conflict of interest, abuse of office, engaging in fraudulent procurement practices, fraudulent acquisition of public property, and money laundering.
The Chief Magistrate of the Anti-Corruption Court, Thomas Nzyoki, issued a summons against Waititu on Tuesday after he failed to appear in court.
He directed that Waititu appear in person on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. for the delivery of the judgment.
