6 tourists die in road crash on Ol Jororok–Nakuru road

Six people have been confirmed dead following a fatal road accident along the Ol Jororok–Nakuru road.

Among the deceased believed to be tourists are four men, one woman, and a child. Additionally, 27 others sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the hospital in critical condition after the 4 p.m. incident.

Nyandarua County Commissioner Abdlisack Jardesa confirmed that the group was travelling from Nakuru to Panari Hotel in Nyahururu for an overnight stay before continuing with their journey. Their vehicle reportedly lost control, rolled, and landed in a ditch in the Gichaka area.

“We have confirmed that six people have died in the accident. However, we are yet to determine their nationalities. The remaining victims have been taken to Nyahururu Hospital, and we will provide further information as it becomes available”, he said.

According to residents, the bus was travelling along the road when it began to rain. “It lost control and rolled several times. It hit a tree and finally came to a stop. We rushed to the scene and helped rescue the occupants,” said MacDavis Wanjau.
